Full day tours depart from Kununurra between 8am and 9.00am. All of our day tours include:

OPTION 1 – (Code LAJ) – LAKE ARGYLE DAY TOUR – Return- to Kununurra by ORD RIVER CRUISE

Departing between 8-8.30am from accommodation in Kununurra (daily departures throughout peak season).

Begin with a 70km informative coach tour to Lake Argyle along one of Australia’s most scenic drives. You will visit the historic Durack Homestead Museum before visiting Lake Argyle Resort and its iconic infinity pool. Following a brief comfort stop you will board the Kimberley Durack, a modern custom designed 15 metre catamaran for an awe inspiring 3 hour Lake Argyle Lunch Cruise. (Refer KDL Tour description under the Boat Cruises heading.)

Following your cruise on Lake Argyle your will drive across the Ord Top Dam wall and see the Ord Hydro-Power Station before your return to Kununurra by a spectacular boat cruise down the Ord River through Carlton Gorge and Lake Kununurra. Enjoy stunning scenery and array of wildlife including crocodiles, flying foxes and prolific birdlife. If you wish to experience a complete snapshot of the famous Ord Waterways of the East Kimberleys this is the tour!

Departing at 9am from accommodation in Kununurra (Tour operates June-August).
Your tour begins cruising the spectacular waterways of Lake Kununurra, Carlton Gorge and the Ord River. Enjoy the stunning scenery, wildlife, flora and fauna found along the way and maybe even spot a crocodile! Following a sumptuous buffet lunch served at one of the riverside camps you will continue your cruise to the Ord Top Dam. Board a coach for a drive across the Dam Wall before a short comfort stop at Lake Argyle Resort and the opportunity to view their infinity pool with one of the best views in Australia!

Board the Kimberley Durack – a modern custom designed 15 metre catamaran affectionately known as the “orange boat” for a 3 hour Lake Argyle Sunset Cruise. You will travel through “the Heads” to Pinpot Bay and out to the largest of more than 70 islands on the Lake – Hagan Island. Enjoy complimentary beverages and nibbles whilst swimming and watching the sun set over the majestic Carr Boyd Ranges. Remember to bring your bathers and towel. This tour is a must for those wishing to experience the famous Ord waterways of the East Kimberley and the most popular Lake Argyle Sunset Cruise!
After your cruise you will reboard the coach for the drive back to Kununurra. Drop off to your accommodation will be approx 7pm.

OPTION 3 – (Code LAB) Return to Kununurra by SCENIC FLOAT PLANE FLIGHT

After your cruise on Lake Argyle you will board a floatplane for the ultimate ride home. This amazing scenic flight takes you over Lake Argyle to one of the most bewildering landscapes you’ll ever see – the spectacular Bungle Bungles. Enjoy a birds eye view of the magnificent striped “beehive” domes and some of its many hidden gorges before heading north for a view of the famous Argyle Diamond Mine, the world’s largest producer of diamonds. Before heading back to Kununurra you will enjoy the thrill of a graceful water landing and afternoon tea on a secluded island beach on Lake Argyle. The final leg of your tour takes you over the Carr Boyd Ranges, the Lake Argyle dam wall, the Ord River, Spillway Creek, Packsaddle farming area and the Diversion Dam before landing on Lake Kununurra. Return to your accommodation at approx 5.30pm

OPTION 4 – (Code LAR) COACH TRANSFER ONLY

Kununurra to Lake Argyle – Lake Argyle to Kununurra your guide will provide a relaxed informative commentary and will be happy to provide you with further information about the area.
You may wish to register as a Day Guest at Lake Argyle Resort and enjoy its facilities including its iconic “infinity pool”. There is a restaurant/bar for those wishing to purchase a meal or drinks. Take a hike on one of the walking trails, visit the Durack Homestead Museum walk down to the Dam Wall for some fantastic photo opportunities. This is a great way to spend a day – do as much or as little as you like!

Departs Kununurra 8.30am (unless prebooked time confirmed)
