Cruise Lake Argyle on board the “Kimberley Durack” – a very stable 50 seat catamaran, purpose built to cruise Lake Argyle. Its spacious futuristic design gives excellent all round viewing, comfortable seating plus a side and rear deck for easy access for the perfect photo opportunity. The detailed design of the Kimberley Durack includes easy wheelchair access, a servery for morning and afternoon teas, and modern toilet facilities.

Experience the true diversity of the ever-changing landscape of Australia’s largest body of fresh water on this 3 to 3.5 hour afternoon of exploration of Lake Argyle. Departing from the Lake Argyle Resort at 2.15pm, your adventure begins with a close up view of the main dam wall, intake structure and quarry blast site. From there, cruising through ‘the Heads’, leads us to the expanse of Pintpot Bay and beyond. The skipper, whilst providing informative commentary, guides the specially designed vessel amongst numerous small inlets and bays in search of local wildlife include Freshwater Crocodiles and their many nesting sites. The cruise continues out to the largest of more than 70 islands Island on the Lake. Hagan Island is over 7km long and is easily recognised by the landmark Mount Misery towering over the now submerged site of the original Argyle Downs Homestead after which Lake Argyle is named. Heading west into the sunset this ancient land will mesmerize. We stop for a refreshing swim in the tranquil waters of the Bay of Islands and as the sun sets we serve a cheese & pate platter, dips and crackers with complimentary beer and wine. The coach returns you to the Lake Argyle Resort at dusk.
A range of complimentary refreshments are available throughout the cruise including: Tea, Coffee, Iced Water, soft drinks, juices, homemade cake or cookies and then enjoy sunset with complimentary cheese platters, dip and crackers with beer, wine and champagne.

Return to Kununurra with a relaxing cruise along the Ord River, enjoying the spectacular scenery of Carlton Gorge and Lake Kununurra.

Return: Approx 5.30pm to Kununurra
Depart Kununurra and travel up the Ord River enjoying the stunning scenery, wildlife, flora and fauna of Lake Kununurra and Carlton Gorge. Stop for a sumptuous buffet lunch at one of their riverside camps before cruising up to the Ord Top Dam. Board the coach for a drive across the Dam Wall and a stop at a scenic lookout before arriving for a comfort break and the chance to see Lake Argyle Resort and their iconic “infinity pool”. Depart the Resort at 2.15pm for your transfer to the boat ramp where you will board the “Kimberley Durack” for a 3.5 hours sunset cruise on stunning Lake Argyle (see KD2 description opposite). Enjoy complimentary beverages and nibbles whilst swimming and watching the sun set over the majestic Carr Boyd Ranges. Your return coach transfer arrives back in Kununurra at approx. 7pm.
